Job summary

Axiom seeks an attorney to join its Consumer Protection & Regulatory practice, advising clients on consumer protection laws, regulatory inquiries, and product compliance across multiple industries. You will collaborate with legal, compliance, marketing, product, risk, and business teams to identify and mitigate regulatory risks.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in consumer protection or related regulatory matters and hold an active U.S. state law license; in-house experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal experience in consumer protection, financial services regulation, consumer product regulation, product safety, or related regulatory matters.
• Experience advising on consumer financial services and lending regulations and/or consumer product regulatory requirements.
• Experience with relevant regulatory frameworks or agencies (CFPB, FTC, CPSC, FDA, or state regulators) depending on practice area.
• Experience with consumer lending, fintech, payments, product claims, advertising, labeling, or recalls is a plus.
• Active attorney license in good standing with a U.S. state bar.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on consumer protection laws, regulations, and compliance requirements affecting products, services, marketing and business operations.
• Provide guidance on interactions with federal and state regulators, inquiries, examinations, investigations, and evolving consumer protection requirements.
• Review consumer-facing marketing, disclosures, terms, and product claims for legal and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with legal, compliance, marketing, product, risk, and business teams to identify and mitigate consumer protection and regulatory risks.
