Jobtailor in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter Supervisor to lead the underwriting function for our consumer lending portfolio. You will guide decisions, ensure policy compliance, and drive timely loan approvals while maintaining credit quality.

In this role you will coach and develop underwriters, analyze loan data and trends, collaborate with processing and branches, and implement improvements to tools and processes to enhance efficiency and member experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of consumer lending or underwriting experience.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and policies.
• Experience analyzing loan data and performance metrics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with lending systems such as Symitar and L360.

Responsibilities

• Leads the underwriting function to support consumer lending goals.
• Supervises, coaches, and develops underwriters.
• Underwrites loans and complex requests using data to assess risk.
• Approves loans and exceptions within authority limits.
• Reviews data trends and prepares leadership reports.
• Develops underwriting solutions to grow loans and relationships.
• Partners with processing, branches, and peers for a seamless experience.
• Monitors workflows and performance metrics to improve efficiency.
• Supports tools, systems, and vendor relationships for decision quality.
• Keeps current on market trends, fraud risks, and regulations.
• Promotes collaboration and alignment with the credit union values.
