Job summary

North Star Community Credit Union in Minot, ND is seeking a seasoned Consumer Lending Manager to lead and grow our consumer lending program. You will guide loan origination, underwriting, and decisioning, coach staff, and ensure a high-quality member experience through sound credit judgments.

This role blends leadership with portfolio management, risk oversight, and process improvement. You’ll partner with leadership on products, rates, and initiatives, staying current on regulations and lending

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive consumer lending or financial services experience.
• Strong experience in consumer loan origination, underwriting, credit analysis, and loan decisioning.
• Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, developing, or leading lending professionals.
• Experience managing or monitoring consumer loan portfolio performance.
• Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations, compliance requirements, and sound lending practices.
• Experience interpreting and applying lending policies and underwriting guidelines.
• Experience with lending technology, loan origination systems, and core banking systems.
• Credit union or community banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop consumer lending staff and foster a high-performing team.
• Provide leadership and oversight for consumer lending operations and portfolio management.
• Drive process improvements in lending policies, systems, and workflows.
• Monitor portfolio performance, delinquency, and risk; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate on products, rates, and strategic lending initiatives with senior leadership.
• Promote member-focused lending practices and a superior member experience.
