Job summary

Sequencing is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Consumer, to own the roadmap for consumer-facing and subscription products. You will report to Product leadership and collaborate with Engineering, Bioinformatics, Design, and Customer Success to deliver usable genomics experiences for a broad audience.

You will define and track success metrics, lead cross-functional discovery, and ensure a user-centric approach that drives adoption and satisfaction across the consumer journey.

Qualifications

• 5+ years product management experience shipping consumer-facing SaaS, health tech, and eCommerce products end to end.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills for specs, timelines, and structured systems thinking across complex consumer journeys.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on consumer initiatives.
• Facility with agile workflows and tools (Jira, Confluence), backlog grooming, dependency mapping, and cross-team coordination.
• Comfort in technical discussions with engineers and bioinformatics teams, with a bias toward execution and user-centric thinking.
• Experience using qualitative and quantitative feedback to inform consumer product decisions, roadmaps, and iterative improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in early stage, startup environments, turning ambiguous problems into clear plans and shipping impactful work.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the end-to-end consumer product roadmap in Jira across web and app experiences.
• Lead cross-functional discovery focused on consumer needs and hypotheses.
• Write and maintain specs, user flows, and acceptance criteria in Confluence and Jira.
• Coordinate execution with Engineering, Bioinformatics, Design, and Customer Success.
• Monitor feedback channels and translate themes into roadmap priorities and usability improvements.
• Own backlog grooming for consumer workstreams and keep Jira boards organized.
