MGO (Macias Gini & O'Connell LLP) invites an experienced Senior Associate to join our Public Sector Advisory Services team. You will lead day-to-day advisory and internal audit engagements for state and local government, perform data-driven analysis, and mentor junior team members.

Based in CA or IL with hybrid options, this role requires strong writing and presentation skills and willingness to travel 10–20%. CPA/CIA/CFE/PMP are preferred or candidates willing to pursue certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of public sector experience in public accounting, audit, or internal controls.
• Certification preferred (CPA, CIA, CFE, PMP), or willingness to pursue.
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to travel (10–20%).

The Opportunity

Compensation

$85,000 – $120,000 plus comprehensive benefits package.
