Job Title: Senior Consultant – Payment Controls & Risk

Duration: 10 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

The bank is looking for seasoned professional with expertise in payments, risk management, and large-scale transformation programs. This team plays a crucial role in managing and refining risk associated with movements of funds – covering outgoing, incoming, and internal transfers. Focused on defining a clear payment risk appetite, consolidating and reporting payment risks as a unified entity, and harmonizing controls across the enterprise. Approach includes developing a cohesive framework for risk management and reducing reliance on detective controls by implementing proactive measures.

Responsibilities:

Support implementation of strategic payment controls across Operations, Technology, and Risk teams
Drive execution strategy, coordination, and reporting for control programs
Collaborate across multiple lines of defense to ensure risk frameworks are robust, efficient, and aligned
Promote process standardization and automation, ensuring solutions are safe, scalable, and client-focused
Identify and escalate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure on-time delivery

Qualifications:

10+ years in Financial Services, with deep knowledge in Payments and Operations
Hands-on experience in Program Management, Data Analysis, and Business Analysis
Strong understanding of payment flows, risk controls, and transaction processing
Prior exposure to Markets, TTS, Lending products
Expertise in stakeholder management, change management, and navigating cross-functional programs
Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability in a matrixed environment
