The ideal candidate has 15+ years in civil infrastructure leadership, an engineering degree, and Texas PE registration.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Texas PE registration.
  • Strong writing, project management, and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing the Western Gulf Coast strategic plan and related municipal, state, and federal pursuits.
  • Advance client relationships and business development across multiple client types including municipalities, counties, districts, and federal agencies.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to divisional leadership in leadership of strategic pursuits and project development.
  • Lead the planning, design, and construction delivery of strategic pursuits and programs with cross-functional teams.

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for an experienced engineering professional to serve as a Senior Consultant , on a part-time or full-time basis, to divisional leadership in our established and growing Western Gulf Coast Division . The preferred candidate will have progressive and documented experience leading the strategic direction of large multi-discipline organizations, have experience in the development of partnerships and cooperative efforts across multiple organizations, possess a background in building effective teams and leadership roles to meet an organizations strategic mission and goals, and be an effective communicator across technical, policy, funding, and political issues and subject matter.The position will be based in the Houston, Texas office and will report to and work with the Western Gulf Coast Division management team and leadership. The preferred candidate will also be expected to work cooperatively across multiple company operations and practices to assist in client engagement activities and leadership of strategic pursuits, clients, and programs throughout the division.What You'll Do:Assist in the development and execution of FNI’s Western Gulf Coast strategic plan, including development of opportunities related to municipal, State, and Federal clients, pursuits, projects, and programs.Assist in the advancement of client relationships and business development across multiple client types including Municipalities, Counties, River Authorities, Water Districts, Flood Control Districts, Drainage Districts, State agencies, USACE and other Federal agencies, and others as required.Serve as a strategic partner to Western Gulf Coast divisional leadership and operations staff, practices, business development teams, and clients in the leadership of strategic pursuits and project development.Serve as a Senior Consultant/Senior Advisor to assist in the leadership, management and delivery of the planning, design, and construction of strategic pursuits, projects, and programs, as appropriate.Qualifications15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the planning, design, and construction of large civil infrastructure projects and programs.Bachelor’s Degree in Civil EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer in Texas.Qualified candidates will have strong technical, production design, writing, and teamwork skills, as well as project/program and team management experience.Strong technical writing and management skills.Self-motivated, able to work independently and multi-task, provide leadership to junior staff, and work with divisional leadership across multiple technical and operational teams, groups, and practices.About Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values ( L earn continuously, E ngage as family, A ct with integrity, D eliver quality, and S erve always).
