Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Newport News is seeking a Construction Supervisor 2 to coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for the AOR program, including defining scope and deliverables that support build strategy and key event schedules.

You will manage the Unit Outfitting Hall, align with trades’ management to control cost, and resolve design, material, scheduling and manpower issues while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years Construction Supervisor 2 experience AND PMI or equivalent certification in project management
• BS/Apprentice + 8 years combined construction management and production management experience (min 4 years construction/production and 4 years exempt) AND PMI or equivalent certification in project management

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR, defining scope, goals and deliverables.
• Manage the Unit Outfitting Hall and project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
• Identify and expedite resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower or other issues.
• Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance and overtime.
• Assess growth work and contract-funded changes for funding and schedule integration.
• Perform inspections and document discrepancies.
• Assess safety risks and develop mitigation plans.
