Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent I to lead on-site construction activities across multiple projects, coordinating with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors. The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, team leadership, and adherence to safety standards.

The candidate will manage scheduling, resources, and site logistics, while mentoring field personnel and ensuring project milestones are met in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Strong communication and organization skills required.
• Proven positive and professional attitude with customer service skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills expected.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities and assign tasks.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and inspections to support project schedule.
• Budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, and materials.
• Review documents for completeness and constructability.
• Develop and update project schedules and look-ahead planning.
• Coordinate plans with engineers and clarify discrepancies.
• Lead pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings.
• Coach and develop field personnel and supervise crews.
