Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for commercial, multifamily, and grocery store projects in Virginia. You will coordinate subcontractors, schedule activities, and ensure compliance with specifications, budget, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining master schedules, leading preconstruction meetings, managing quality control, and mentoring field staff.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial/multifamily construction experience.
• Experience in grocery store construction is required.
• Proficient with project management software.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the master project schedule and 2-week look-ahead.
• Coordinate subcontractors, material, and equipment to meet schedule and budget.
• Conduct precon meetings with major subcontractors and the Project Manager.
• Schedule subcontractors and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with contracted scope, quality, and schedule.
• Maintain jobsite safety plans and participate in safety meetings.
• Perform quality control and inspect materials and installations per submittals.
• Keep daily logs and photos; identify conflicts and escalate for resolution.
• Train and mentor Assistant Superintendents and Field Engineers.
