AE2S in Lone Tree, CO is seeking a Senior Construction Services Specialist to serve as the Engineer’s onsite representative, ensuring projects are built to spec, on time, and with quality. You will observe vertical construction, coordinate with owners, engineers, and contractors, and help resolve field issues.

The role emphasizes field problem solving, leadership of observation staff, collaboration across teams, and travel to active project sites regionally.

Senior Construction Services Specialist – Lone Tree, CO

We’re looking for a Senior Construction Services Specialistto join our Colorado team and serve as the Engineer’s onsite representative - helping ensure projects are built right, on time, and to spec. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in observing and supporting civil‑related construction projects, ensuring quality and precision in every phase. Responsibilities

• Perform onsite construction observation and documentation for vertical construction, such asstructural concrete, pump and treatment equipment, and building construction
• Monitor contractor activities and workmanship to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards
• Serve as the primary field representative between the Owner, Engineer, and Contractor, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution
• Review and document construction progress, field reports, RFIs, pay applications, testing results, and project records
• Participate in construction meetings and coordinate with project teams regarding schedules, materials, quantity tracking, change orders, and field activities
• Provide leadership and direction to AE2S construction observation staff while ensuring consistency in project documentation and quality control
• Support project managers in monitoring budgets, tracking progress, reviewing project schedules, and delivering successful project outcomes
• Mentor junior construction services staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of construction management and observation practices
• Travel regionally to active project sites (overnight travel as needed)

Compensation and Total Rewards
The anticipated salary range for this position is:

• $90,900,600-$111,100
  • This salary range represents AE2S's good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, technical expertise, licensure, certifications, education, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• 12 or more years of experience in mass grading, heavy civil construction, and vertical/facility construction (water, wastewater, or industrial type projects)
• Broad knowledge of principles of engineering as it relates to the construction of complex projects
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery
• Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate with construction contractors, clients and project teams
• Ability and willingness to work in the field across project sites
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems onsite
• Demonstrated ability to work independently

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk up to 10 miles on uneven terrain
• May require lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 75 pounds
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs as well as moving the whole body such as running, maneuvering, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• Drive and navigate vehicles or mechanized equipment including but not limited to all‑terrain vehicles or watercraft
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
• Use hands and arms to handle, install, position, and manipulate or move materials
• Service, repair, calibrate, regulate, fine‑tune, or test machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily based on electrical or electronic principles
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame‑resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
