Job summary

Grunley Construction Co, Inc seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to implement Safety Management Systems, Risk Management, and Safety Training across our projects. You will report to the Director of Corporate Safety and collaborate with field teams to enforce safety policies.

Requirements include a HS Diploma, OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and extensive construction safety experience. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and USACE standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR certification.
• Preferred to have OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 certification.
• Competent Person Training (CPT) in fall protection, confined space, scaffolding, excavation and Silica preferred.
• Current attendance certifications for USACE EM385-1-1, QCM, Maryland Sediment & Erosion Control, Asbestos/Lead supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Safety Manager/SSHO and participate in the Grunley Safety/Accident Prevention Committee.
• Develop Job Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA’s).
• Lead safety audits with project teams and subcontractors to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Assist with injury investigations, return-to-work plans, and OSHA 300/300A/301 logs.
• Review subcontractor insurance certificates for compliance and maintain SDS communications.
