Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the safety function for a single Business Unit or multiple small units on complex projects. This role emphasizes safety leadership, collaboration, and driving best practices across teams.

You will develop project safety plans, conduct SafetyNet inspections, analyze leading and lagging indicators, mentor safety staff, and support client pre-qualifications and safety presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety management or engineering required.
• 5–7 years of construction safety management experience preferred.
• CSP certification and instructor authorization by GU/OSHA required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the successful implementation of the safety culture across the business unit(s).
• Develops and ensures distribution of project-specific safety plans based on Safety Alignment Assessment.
• Performs regular SafetyNet inspections with high observation counts to drive safety improvements.
• Uses SafetyNet to audit project team implementation of the Safety Plan and shares findings with teams.
• Analyzes leading and lagging indicators; directs focus areas and corrective actions with BU leadership.
• Mentors Safety Managers and supports client safety pre-qualifications and presentations.
