Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Assistant Safety Director to lead safety planning and execution on our projects in Herndon, VA, Sterling, VA, Culpeper, VA, Manassas, VA, Ashburn, VA, and Richmond, VA. The role blends people leadership with technical safety expertise to integrate safety into planning and field execution.

You will coach Safety Coordinators, review critical plans, and drive safe work practices across complex construction sites.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Proven experience leading safety efforts on large or complex construction projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety planning and execution in alignment with project leadership and goals.
• Partner with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into planning and execution.
• Coach Safety Coordinators and Senior Safety Coordinators to ensure program consistency.
• Lead planning and execution of high‑risk activities with a focus on SIF risk mitigation.
• Review JHAs, MOPs, lift plans, and energy control procedures for hazard identification.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
