Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant – Construction Safety to lead safety program development and governance on large capital projects in Indianapolis and other locations.

You will guide EHS strategy, mentor teams, and influence executives to integrate Safety‑by‑Design, constructability risk management, and incident prevention throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health and safety, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 6-8+ years of capital project EHS experience including owner-side safety, contractor oversight, construction execution and commissioning/start-up.
• Experience with Safety in Design and risk reviews, and project EHS governance processes.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction/General Industry standards and incident documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner with EHS, Engineering, Project Controls, and Capital Project leadership to evaluate program effectiveness and drive improvements across all project phases.
• Lead strategic discussions on program maturity, contractor management practices, and risk governance.
• Develop and deploy scalable EHS frameworks, standards, and management systems aligned with project objectives.
