Job summary

NYC School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) seeks a Project Officer II to manage and coordinate personnel, budgets, administration and operational activities across all phases of assigned school construction projects, from conception through opening.

Responsibilities include design/construction coordination, quality and code compliance, reviews with architects and contractors, and proactive communication with stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Five years of full time, progressively responsible work in construction/design fields.
• Experience managing all phases of construction projects of similar scope to NYCSCA.
• Driver’s license valid in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Administration and coordination of design and construction activities for complex projects.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project officers.
• Review design/construction documents and resolve issues early in the process.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain schedules and budgets.
• Make on-site decisions on change orders and resource commitments.
