Job summary

Sauer in Norfolk, VA seeks a Project Manager to lead project teams, manage subcontractors, and build strong client relations on long-term federal/private construction projects.

This role directs staff, oversees budgets, schedules, procurement, risk, safety, and quality programs, and ensures compliance with corporate and government requirements. LEED accreditation and Primavera experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Accredited 5-year degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on Federal and/or Private construction projects.
• Thorough knowledge of cost, schedule, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles.
• LEED accreditation and strong communication/leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and responsible for all staff assigned to the project.
• Manage budget and financial reporting for the project; protect client relationships.
• Pre-qualify and evaluate bidders; issue inquiry packages; award contracts; change orders.
• Prepare initial master schedule and oversee updates.
• Oversee cost control and change management.
• Lead project meetings (progress, pre-construction, pre-award).
• Ensure ethics and compliance throughout the unit.
• Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions.
