Job summary

Sterling Industrial LLC, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, seeks a seasoned construction project engineer/assistant project manager to oversee multi-craft site work on industrial projects. You will coordinate with estimators and the project team, manage schedules and cost reporting, and ensure plans are followed while controlling changes and procuring long-lead items.

The role requires heavy travel and possible relocation, with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery of large-scale

Qualifications

• 15 years’ experience in heavy industrial construction.
• Experience on projects $50M+.
• Design-Build project experience a plus.
• Problem-solving skills and strong negotiation abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Primavera.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage job cost reporting processes: track quantities and develop reports for status vs budget and scheduling updates.
• Work with estimating and project team to build and maintain project schedules from bid through completion.
• Prepare payment applications, schedule updates, and status reports to clients.
• Coordinate flow of technical information between customers and the company; manage submittals and RFIs.
• Negotiate change orders and pricing implications with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Lead field activities: cost control, planning, procurement, and contractor supervision.
• Review plans and specifications, communicate revisions, and ensure design conformance.
• Monitor safety/quality, and participate in project decision-making with site supervision.
