Job summary

Group PMX is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead complex projects in Richmond, VA, delivering planning, execution and closeout across all phases. You’ll oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships to ensure successful outcomes in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, R&D, or Healthcare sectors.

The role emphasizes proactive risk management, rigorous quality and safety standards, and clear executive communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 8+ years of construction project management experience, including leadership of large or complex projects.
• Direct experience managing Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, R&D, or Healthcare construction projects required.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project controls, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution activities.
• Manage project teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee project financials, including forecasting, cost control, change management, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues.
• Review construction documents, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear communication to clients and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate design, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Prepare executive-level reports and presentations on project status, budget, schedule, and risks.

Senior Construction Project Manager

Salary: $150,000 – $170,000

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing projects within the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, R&D, or Healthcare sectors and be capable of overseeing all phases of project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
