Job summary

MBC Talent Connections seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager in Lexington, KY to lead projects from design through closeout. You will coordinate contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors, mentor junior PMs, and maintain client relationships to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include managing multiple projects, preparing specs and budgets, administering contracts, and ensuring design budgets align with owner goals. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 15 years of project management experience.
• 20+ years in the construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or business (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects at different stages, from design through closeout.
• Meet with clients to define functional and spatial needs, then prepare specifications, materials, budgets, and schedules.
• Administer construction contracts and lead client progress meetings.
• Work with our in-house design team on drawings for pricing and construction.
• Oversee drawings and specification documents, and keep design and budget goals on track with the owner.
• Partner with estimating on the advertising and bidding of projects.
• Secure all required state and local permits and licenses.
• Manage project finances, including subcontractor costs, billing, and owner payments.
• Work with superintendents to monitor progress, worker productivity, and building and safety code compliance.
• Build schedules covering design and engineering, bidding, buyout, construction, and closeout.
• Respond to weather and owner-requested changes with solutions that limit delays.

About the Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will oversee every phase of the construction process. You will coordinate contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and in-house crews, and build lasting relationships with the clients we serve. You will also mentor our junior Project Managers and help develop the next generation of leaders.

What You Bring

Required

• 15 years of project management experience
• 20+ years in the construction industry
• Commercial construction experience
• Experience leading design-build projects
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or business (strongly preferred)

Preferred

• Pre-construction and scheduling experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary of $130,000 – $160,000, plus a year-end bonus paid around December 1

Work-Life Balance

Most projects are within a 3-hour radius of the office. You can expect to be home at night about 70% of the time.
