Job summary

  • Oversee day-to-day management of multiple ongoing complex projects.
  • Supervise up to two internal project managers/project engineers.
  • Develop initial budgets and schedules for diverse projects.
  • Track project progress against budgets, timelines and client goals.
  • Coordinate design teams, general contractor, furniture vendors and other client vendors.
  • Manage change orders, invoicing, tenant improvement allowances and close-out processes.

Job description

Great client looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager in Columbus, OH.

The Senior Project Manager position includes regular travel to project sites.

  • Manage all facets of multiple, concurrent commercial construction projects from inception through to the completion of construction.
  • Interface with clients and brokers on new project requirements.
  • Assist in the review of Leases and Work Letters as it pertains to construction related items.
  • Day-to-day involvement in directly managing multiple ongoing complex construction projects.
  • Manage up to two internal project managers/project engineers in support of ongoing projects.
  • Develop initial project budgets and schedules for multiple types of projects of different sizes and complexities.
  • Manage project progress against approved budgets, timelines and client directed goals.
  • Assemble, manage and coordinate project teams required to complete projects. This typically includes the entire design team, general contractor, furniture vendor and other client vendors.
  • Managing change order, invoicing, tenant improvement allowance reimbursement and project close-out processes.
  • Actual compensation within the $150,000 - $190,000 range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications. This range includes a base salary only and is not reflective of a total compensation package.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Complex/Technical projects- Preferred if have Defense Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace project experience.
  • Experience with Hardware Technology and Advanced Manufacturing related projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading new construction and tenant improvement projects.
  • Experience with Design-Build projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing people internally and externally.
  • Applicants should be highly proficient in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Project.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess a strong ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Able to establish and maintain a strong working relationship with client(s) and internal partners.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be local to Columbus, OH.
  • This position involves a combination of in-office and onsite work.
  • The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in the construction industry. We are looking for candidates who have served in Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager type roles.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college required, preferably in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, polished and a proud representative for the client.
  • Regular travel as required to support client projects.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project proficiency.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States – position is not eligible for sponsorship at this time.
