Job summary

Wurzel Builders, LTD. in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-value commercial construction projects and mentor a team of project managers and superintendents.

You will own project budgets and schedules, manage buy-outs and subcontractor contracts, coordinate with owners and vendors, and uphold safety and quality standards across all phases. The role requires strong leadership and communication, with a proactive, ethical approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Construction or related field or 5+ years of Project Management experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as PM software (Bluebeam, MS Project).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and processes
• Must have OSHA 30 or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of start date
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities
• Ethical behavior and integrity used in all situations
• Self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Develop a budget for each project utilizing the estimate generated by estimating as a guideline.
• Buy-out the project by subcontractors and manage the Buy-Out Process.
• Manage the financial aspects of each project including forecasts, cost proposals, billings, and pay applications
• Hold weekly project meetings with Owner and subcontractors
• Generate and maintain a project schedule and update Master Schedule
• Monitor the construction process to stay on schedule and within budget
• Mentor project managers and assist superintendents with best practices
• Participate in performance reviews for project managers
• Exemplify company values and maintain client relationships
