Job summary

Mullins Mechanical & Welding, Llc is seeking a Material Manager to lead the material management function for large-scale construction projects. You will direct Material Coordinators and Expediters, oversee the full material lifecycle, and ensure accurate inventory and on-time delivery to the field.

The role requires strong leadership, logistics, and data-tracking skills, with familiarity in Procore or similar software.

Qualifications

• Excellent leadership and team coordination for material, logistics, and warehouse operations.
• Proven ability to manage large volumes of raw materials, deliveries, inventory, and field distribution.
• Advanced organizational skills to establish processes and keep rapid material operations orderly.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn and use company systems and digital tracking tools.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the material management function for large-scale construction projects, including oversight of Material Coordinators and Material Expediters.
• Oversee the material lifecycle from receiving through installation, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
• Manage shipping and receiving, verify packing slips and purchase orders, and document discrepancies.
• Maintain real-time inventory records and ensure materials are updated in systems and project tracking tools.
• Develop and implement material management and logistics plans aligned with project schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Procurement, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure material availability.
• Track material from order to installation and identify shortages or risks impacting schedules.
• Coordinate delivery schedules, site laydown, and material distribution for safe and efficient movement.
• Provide regular updates to project leadership on inventory status, deliveries, shortages, and logistics constraints.
