Job summary

The San Diego County Water Authority is seeking a Principal Construction Manager to lead the Engineering Department’s Construction Group in delivering major CIP projects for the region. You will guide in-house and consultant teams, coordinate schedules and budgets, and ensure high-quality construction management across all project phases.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is a construction management professional with a strong background in water utility construction, including major capital infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Reviews the work of construction managers and inspectors and provides guidance on design, construction of major capital projects.
• Establishes scope, schedule and budget for construction projects.
• Oversees contracts, reviews change orders, and ensures compliance with Water Authority standards.
• Represents the Water Authority with consultants and contractors.
• Prepares correspondence on highly technical construction management issues.
