Job summary

King County seeks a senior construction manager to lead the Construction and Asset Management Unit (CAMU) within SWD. You will act as owner’s representative, provide construction leadership, coordinate contractors and consultants, and ensure safe, compliant delivery of capital projects across RTS sites and landfills.

The role requires overseeing inspections, contract management, documentation, commissioning, and permitting coordination, with hybrid on-site and remote work, primarily at RTS

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in civil engineering, construction inspection or construction management.
• Ability to read and relate drawings, details and specs to projects.
• Strong oral and written communication for owner’s rep and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple CM contracts, manage progress, BMPs, inspections and material testing.
• Review RFIs, minutes, submittals and shop drawings for conformance.
• Support change order prep, review and negotiations with contractors.
• Coordinate commissioning, asset data collection and design drawing interpretation.
• Lead and support CM daily activities to meet project goals.
