Job summary

KBR seeks a senior Construction Manager to lead on-site execution of a $900M+ energetics manufacturing facility in Kentucky. You will own day-to-day construction from mobilization through turnover, interfacing with the Army, USACE, and installation leadership to ensure safety, schedule, and quality.

The role requires proven delivery of large federal programs, expertise in chemical or energetics plants, and the ability to manage multi-discipline teams and complex contracts with a focus on Zero

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or four additional years of directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 15+ years of progressive construction management experience on heavy industrial projects, including at least 10 years on federal Government construction programs.
• Experience as senior on-site construction manager for a program valued at $500M+.

Responsibilities

• Direct all on-site construction activities for a $900M+ facility including sitework, buildings, utilities, and equipment installation.
• Serve as primary interface with the U.S. Army, USACE district, installation staff, and Government safety and security organizations.
• Manage subcontractors and self-perform crews; enforce contract requirements, schedule discipline, and quality standards across work packages.
• Implement a construction safety program compliant with federal and DoD criteria in alignment with Zero Harm culture.
• Ensure compliance with DoD explosives safety siting and design requirements and hazardous location electrical standards.
• Oversee cost, schedule, and earned value; manage change control, RFIs, submittals, and claims avoidance; report status to leadership and Government.
• Coordinate sequencing with vendors, commissioning teams, and operations for smooth transition from construction to systemization and startup.
• Lead QA/QC per USACE three-phase control process; closeout punch lists, testing, and documentation.
• Support environmental compliance during construction (stormwater, air, waste, RCRA).
• Lead and develop a multi-discipline team including superintendents, field engineers, QC managers, and safety professionals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
