Job summary

M&J Engineering, D.P.C. in Rockville, MD is seeking multiple Senior Inspectors to oversee field inspection activities on major transportation construction projects.

You will supervise inspection teams, ensure compliance with plans, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve issues. The successful candidate will have 6+ years of field inspection experience, familiarity with VDOT/MDOT/DDOT/WMATA standards, and strong communication skills to mentor staff and maintain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• 6+ years of field inspection experience.
• Experience with VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, or WMATA projects preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform complex field inspections to ensure conformance with plans and specs.
• Supervise and mentor junior inspectors; provide technical guidance.
• Monitor contractor activities and report delays and non-compliance issues.
• Review construction documents (plans, submittals, RFIs, change orders).
• Maintain daily reports, inspection logs, material test results, and photos.
