Job summary

City of Buda, TX seeks a senior Construction Inspector to perform complex site inspections of civil and environmental improvements, coordinate with the City Engineer, and supervise staff as needed.

The position requires at least five years of site civil or public infrastructure experience, a high school diploma or equivalent (associate preferred), and a Texas driver’s license. Strong report writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum work experience in site civil or public infrastructure construction, maintenance, or operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in construction science or building trades preferred.
• Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

Responsibilities

• Performs site inspections of civil/public infrastructure construction and related site work to ensure compliance with plans and regs.
• Coordinate MS4 program reporting with multiple city departments.
• Read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and specifications; inspect contractor work for compliance.
• Prepare reports and field memoranda on construction projects and supervise others as needed.
