Job summary

BL Companies is seeking a qualified Senior Construction Inspector to join our growing CEI team. This role focuses on CTDOT highway and bridge projects, as well as municipal improvements and select private-sector assignments.

The Senior Construction Inspector oversees field inspections, ensures contract compliance, and serves as a liaison among the client, contractor, and project team. Hybrid work arrangements are available where feasible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of construction inspection experience on roadway, bridge, or utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of CTDOT specifications, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or oversee daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Monitor contractor operations, including subcontractors and utility work, to ensure adherence to project requirements and schedules.
• Prepare detailed daily reports with activities, labor, equipment, and quantities.
• Verify and document pay quantities and maintain accurate project records for payment purposes.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers, Resident Engineers, clients, and third‑party testing firms.
