Senior Construction Inspector

Location: Frisco, Texas

Garver has an opening for a Senior Construction Inspector in Frisco, TX. The primary duties include inspecting and observing wastewater treatment, water treatment, and heavy civil construction projects. This role will focus heavily on electrical work inspection at plants and pump stations, as well as SCADA system replacements across city infrastructure.

This position involves observing, inspecting, and documenting construction activities under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Manager assigned to specific projects. The inspector will assist Project Engineers and Managers to ensure construction aligns with plans and specifications. The selected candidate will report directly to Garver's on-site Project Engineer or Manager.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Acting as the Owner's agent to ensure work installation meets or exceeds plans and specifications
  • Interacting with staff, contractors, the public, and others on-site
  • Communicating effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Reading and interpreting data, documents, and information
  • Analyzing and solving problems
  • Observing and interpreting situations on construction sites
  • Performing detailed work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Collaborating with contractors to facilitate production and resolve issues
  • Reviewing quantities in pay applications monthly for billing accuracy

Applicants must be capable of significant physical activity outdoors, including lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, walking, and standing for prolonged periods, as well as operating motorized vehicles. All applicants must consent to background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle reports as part of the employment process.

Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in construction inspection, surveying, or materials testing
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with PMIS systems (Procore, E-Builder, Autodesk, etc.)
  • Valid Texas (or other state) Driver's License
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in heavy civil, wastewater, or water treatment projects
  • Surveying or materials testing certifications
  • Construction Management coursework
  • Certified Concrete Technician (ACI)
  • OSHA 10/30 certifications and other industry-specific training
  • Traffic Control/Safety training
  • Additional testing and inspection certifications
