Job description

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in South Georgia. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our construction engineering and inspection business while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including: highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Opportunities for growth and training into construction management and office engineering careers.

Essential Function

• Provide construction management support, including inspection, and monitoring of construction ensure compliance with safety regulations


• Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions


• Monitor the activities of other inspectors


• Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors


• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects


• Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required


• Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers

Required Skills and Experience

• Four (4) + years of experience in roadway and structures construction


• GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection Training Group 3


• GDOT WECS


• GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification


• GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control)


• Advanced working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment


• Working knowledge of GDOT manuals, policies and procedures, include the Construction Manual


• Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications


• Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise inspection technicians in the field


• Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process


• Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record


• Experience with MS Office and mobile devices

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience with GDOT, especially as Senior Inspector
