Job summary

Larson Maddox, a nationally recognized Am Law 100 firm, seeks an experienced Construction/General Liability Litigation Attorney to join its defense team in New York. Handle matters including NY Labor Law, construction defects, premises liability, and casualty matters, with mentorship from seasoned litigators.

Qualifications include a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to the New York Bar, and 3+ years of defense litigation experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of defense litigation experience.
• Strong background handling construction litigation, general liability, insurance defense, and/or premises liability matters.
• Experience independently managing cases and client relationships.
• Deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience; trial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of construction, general liability, premises liability, and transportation-related matters from inception through resolution
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation
• Defend claims involving New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241 as well as high-exposure casualty and construction accident matters
• Work directly with clients, carriers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop litigation strategy and provide regular case updates
• Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on complex matters, including catastrophic injury and multi-party litigation
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to overall case strategy and client service initiatives
