The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) seeks a procurement professional to join the Department of Construction & Facilities Procurement as either a Construction Buyer or Senior Construction & Facilities Buyer. The level will depend on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree; substitution of equivalent years of relevant experience may be made.
• Experience: Two years related construction, buying, or procurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction procurement from initiation to award recommendation.
• Draft specifications and vendor qualification criteria for bids and proposals.
• Coordinate with project managers and vendor community to inform end users about sources, discounts, pricing and delivery provisions.
• Evaluate bid and proposal responses to contract awards and debrief unsuccessful vendors.
• Maintain and develop sources for construction and contractor supplies and services.
