Job summary

Beyond Lumber is hiring for a Senior Construction Estimator & Sales Manager to join our Gardena showroom and work across Beyond Lumber and LA Decks. This full-time, on-site role focuses on detailed cost estimates, material takeoffs, and project budgets for decking, siding, fencing, and exterior architectural projects.

You will analyze blueprints, create labor/material cost breakdowns, evaluate vendor quotes, and maintain pricing databases while collaborating with operations to protect margins

Beyond Lumber is a premium outdoor materials supplier serving contractors, designers, architects, builders, and homeowners with high-quality decking, siding, fencing, cladding, and exterior architectural products. Based in Gardena, CA, we offer a curated selection of hardwoods, thermally modified woods, composite decking, and exterior siding solutions. We work in tandem with our premium outdoor construction contractor partner, LA Decks. This position is a dual role working across both companies. You will leverage Beyond Lumber’s direct-importer pricing and inventory to supply materialswhile concurrently driving estimating, sales, and proposal efforts for LA Decks' high-end installations and commercial projects.

Role Description

The Senior Construction Estimator & Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area (Gardena). This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, material takeoffs, and project budgets for decking, siding, fencing, and exterior architectural projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing blueprints and project plans, developing labor and material cost breakdowns, and leading sales opportunities from lead intake through proposal, negotiation, and project handoff. You will evaluate vendor quotes, maintain pricing databases, and collaborate closely with operations and field teams to ensure accurate pricing, protected margins, and smooth project transitions for both material supply and full construction builds.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Project Estimation, Sales, and Cost Management skills, with experience preparing detailed estimates for construction or exterior materials projects.
• Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills and Budgeting capabilities to evaluate project requirements, develop accurate cost models, and align proposals with client budgets.
• Candidates should possess proven Cost Control experience, including monitoring actual costs versus estimates and recommending adjustments to protect margins and project outcomes.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with estimating software (such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or SketchUp), spreadsheets, and CRM systems commonly used in construction environments.
• Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to present estimates, confidently close sales, and collaborate with internal teams and clients.
• Relevant experience in decking, siding, fencing, building materials, or construction estimating, particularly for exterior, commercial, or public works projects, is highly beneficial.
• A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
• Candidates must be comfortable working full-time from the Gardena office/showroom and managing site visits and client meetings as needed.
• Pay Range: $90,000 - $200,000 per year (Estimated total compensation including base/draw and commission based on performance, closed sales, and project profitability).
