Job summary

TrueBuild Partners, a leading general contractor in Windsor, CO, is seeking a Construction Estimator to own the estimating process from bid invitation through award. You will work with PMs, Superintendents, and leadership to win profitable work and ensure accurate cost guidance during preconstruction.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a GC, plus proficiency in takeoff and estimating software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor.
• Experience estimating municipal, school, commercial, or related ground-up projects preferred.
• Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail under tight bid deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for municipal, school, and commercial projects, including hard-bid, negotiated, and design-assist work.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop self-perform and subcontractor pricing.
• Review plans, specifications, and addenda to identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
• Solicit, level, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Build and manage bid schedules, bid packages, and proposal submissions to meet deadlines.
• Develop conceptual and budget estimates during preconstruction and support owners and design teams with cost guidance.
• Hand off awarded projects to operations with clear estimate breakdowns and scope documentation.
• Maintain historical cost data and strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
