Job summary

Ferguson Construction Co. is seeking an experienced estimator to develop conceptual budgets and firm price proposals for design/build and plan/spec projects.

You will manage the full estimate process, evaluate plans and bid documents, solicit subcontractors, perform quantity takeoffs, and write proposals while coordinating with design, business development and operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 5–6 years of estimating experience in construction.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient with On Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating and MS Office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire estimate process and coordinate with estimators, sales and project managers.
• Evaluate plans and bid documents to identify risks and information needs.
• Solicit subcontractors, follow up and evaluate quotes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for subcontractor and self-perform scopes.
• Develop subcontractor checklists to identify gaps and overlaps.
• Lead site walks and communicate scope changes during estimating.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and draft proposals.
• Build relationships with customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
• Handover information to operations after award and support budgeting.
