Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator in Silicon Valley to develop detailed budgets from plans and specs. You will leverage Bluebeam and HeavyBid to craft accurate estimates and collaborate with PMs to secure competitive pricing.

The role requires a strong background in construction estimating, conceptual estimating on midsized to large commercial TI projects, and proficiency with Timberline, Procore, Excel and Word. Travel to sites may be involved.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience in Project Management/Preconstruction.
Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
Familiarity with contracts and negotiation techniques.
Experience with conceptual estimating on midsized to large commercial tenant improvement projects.
Proficient in PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications (Timberline, Procore, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
Utilize Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates.
Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather pricing information.
Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
Monitor project costs to adhere to budget constraints.
Review contracts and specifications for compliance with project requirements.
Support bidding by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to stakeholders.
Stay informed on industry pricing trends and new materials or methods.
