Job summary

Austin NAWIC is seeking an experienced Estimator to oversee commercial project estimating from initial drawings through final bid submission. The role requires strong takeoff skills, the ability to manage multiple bids, and coordination with management on pricing.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years in commercial construction estimating, with a preference for roofing, waterproofing, façades, EIFS, or exterior work, and proficiency with estimating software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience in commercial roofing, waterproofing or exterior construction preferred.
• Ability to independently manage estimating process from start to finish.
• Proven ownership of full bid process end-to-end—from takeoff through submission and award.
• Strong blueprint reading and takeoff skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to prepare estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors).
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare professional client proposals.

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Prepare complete cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare professional proposals for clients.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously and ensure all submissions are completed accurately and on time.
