Job summary

Tiello LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the preconstruction team in Plano, Texas. The role focuses on leading estimating efforts for ground-up tilt-up commercial and industrial projects, collaborating with design teams, subcontractors, and operations to drive accurate cost outcomes.

The ideal candidate has seven+ years of GC estimating experience, proficiency with estimating tools, and a background in large-scale industrial/warehouse projects. This position is based on-site in Plano.

Qualifications

• At least seven years of estimating experience directly with a general contractor.
• Direct experience estimating ground-up tilt-up commercial or industrial projects.
• Experience estimating warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, industrial parks, or similar large-scale projects.
• Strong conceptual estimating, quantity takeoff, subcontractor buyout, and bid-leveling capabilities.
• Established relationships with subcontractors and trade partners in the Dallas–Fort Worth market.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, BuildingConnected, Procore, and Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline preferred.
• Note: non-relevant sectors (residential, multifamily, TI, civil) do not meet the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, schematic, design-development, and GMP estimating efforts.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for ground-up tilt-up projects.
• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals, and other project documents.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids.

• Participate in design meetings and provide preconstruction guidance.
• Prepare bid packages, scope sheets, and estimate summaries for leadership review.
• Maintain historical cost data and current market-pricing information.
• Assist with budgeting, scheduling, procurement planning, and project buyout activities.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth project turnover.

Tiello has partnered with an established general contractor delivering large-scale ground-up commercial and industrial construction projects throughout the Southwest. The company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its preconstruction team in Plano, Texas.

Role Summary

The Senior Estimator will lead estimating efforts for ground-up tilt-up commercial and industrial construction projects. This individual will manage estimates from early conceptual budgeting through GMP and final pricing while partnering with subcontractors, design teams, project executives, and operations.

The successful candidate must have direct estimating experience with a general contractor and a proven background estimating ground-up tilt-up commercial or industrial projects.

Project Type

Ground-up tilt-up commercial and industrial construction, including warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, industrial parks, and other large-scale commercial or industrial buildings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Candidates without direct general-contractor estimating experience on ground-up tilt-up commercial or industrial projects will not be considered. Residential, multifamily, tenant-improvement, civil, and specialty-subcontractor experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
