Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and painstaking Senior Construction Estimator to join our team. You will play a critical role within the company as you will train, mentor and oversee the estimating team, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness and thorough project estimates. We require you to have a thorough understanding of the commercial interior construction industry, as well as the ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mentorship & Training: Ensuring the team maintains high standards of accuracy and efficiency through training and mentoring.
2. Estimating: Prepare, review and analyse cost estimates, project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
3. Bid co-ordination: Managing the process from start to finish including soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids, ensuring all estimates are thorough and competitive.
4. Relationship building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
5. Project management support: Working closely with project managers to provide ongoing analysis and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in commercial interiors, general contracting and estimating
• Strong knowledge of industry trends including construction methods, materials and regulations
• Proven experience in mentoring and training a team of estimators
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
