Northrop Grumman is hiring a Staff Construction Engineer for the Sentinel Program in Roy, Utah. The role entails applying engineering judgment to review designs, managing submittals, and ensuring compliance with construction standards and safety protocols on large-scale defense infrastructure projects.

Qualifications include a BS in Science or higher (or equivalent experience), DoD Secret clearance eligibility, and strong communication skills for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 12 years with Bachelors in Science or 10 years with Masters or 8 years with PhD; in lieu of degree 4 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; SAP access.
• Experience with large-scale construction/infrastructure projects in defense, aerospace, nuclear environments.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, standards in construction/field engineering.
• Familiarity with codes (IBC, IFC, NFPA, UFC) and application to design/construction.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specs, and change notices to identify constructability issues and risks.
• Process subcontractor submittals (shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals, method statements) per FAR and program protocols.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals, construction means, and materials for compliance with requirements.
• Support field engineering, resolve non-conformances, develop repair plans and document deviations.
• Drive quality inspections, ITPs, hold points, acceptance criteria, and safety-related work.
