Job summary

Smithsonian Institution seeks a Supervisory Senior Construction Engineer to act as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR), providing technical and managerial facilities support for contractors, associate directors, and directors.

The role requires leading a field team, overseeing complex projects, and developing project administration tools while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with ABET accreditation or equivalent.
• Possession of or eligibility for PE license or EI/EIT as applicable.
• Experience coordinating on-site construction inspections and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior construction representative with broad technical expertise in construction, architectural, and engineering disciplines.
• Provide oversight for complex, high-profile projects and advise on construction efforts.
• Develop and implement project administration computer applications.
• Manage field staff of on-site engineers, architects, and technicians.
• Develop policies, procedures, guidelines, contract specs and changes, and technical reports.
