Job summary

UNICO Engineering seeks a Senior Construction Engineer with 4+ years of experience to support our project teams in Northern and Central California. You will work on transportation projects, coordinate with clients and contractors, review plans, and manage documentation and budgets to ensure successful closeout.

Qualifications

• Registered as a California Professional Engineer.
• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or 10 years of experience.
• Experience on locally, state and federally funded transportation projects in Northern/Central California.
• Ability to review plans and specifications and prepare project documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and attend meetings with the Contractor, client agencies, and the public (as necessary).
• Establish and maintain project records.
• Review and respond to RFIs and letters.
• Review and process submittals.
• Document and authorize payments for the project.
• Review the Contractor’s work for compliance.
• Review extra work and perform independent cost analysis and time impact analysis.
• Participate in and/or conducting pre, mid, and post-construction reviews.
• Manage and forecast project budgets.
• Review and draft responses to NOPCs and claims.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Prepare final project closeout documents.

UNICO is seeking aSenior Construction Engineerwith 4+ yearsexperienceto support our Engineers in project deliver. Experience with locally, state and federally-funded transportation projects in Northern and Central California. Must understand Caltrans and local agency standards, as well as the Caltrans Process. Type of infrastructure projects include roadways, bridges / structures, curb, gutter, sidewalk, underground utilities, earthwork, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Specific responsibilities include: attending client and contractor meetings, reviewing plans and specifications and ensuring compliance with documents, providing project documentation in the form of letters, RFI/Submittal response, change orders, manage and forecast budget, maintain as-built drawings, prepare final project closeout documents, etc. Must have experience working in a team environment, This position will report to a Engineer. Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Registered as a California Professional Engineer AND
• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering plus four (4) years of relevant Construction Engineering experience, OR
• Ten (10) years of relevant Construction Engineering experience
