FM, a leading mutual insurance company, seeks a Staff Engineering Specialist – Construction & Design Standards based in FM’s Science and Technology Office in Norwood, MA. You’ll lead design and construction excellence across large industrial facilities and data centers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience on large facilities.
• Experience with data centers, pharma, power generation or high-hazard occupancies.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, fire protection and infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for construction, design, and engineering practices on complex facilities.
• Develop and apply engineering standards for new construction and major projects.
• Evaluate construction methods and systems to strengthen resilience.
• Collaborate with field engineering, underwriting, FM Approvals, and other teams on reviews.
• Translate industry trends into practical engineering guidance for FM.
• Develop and deliver technical training and mentor engineers across the organization.
• Build relationships with clients and external partners to stay connected to evolving practices.
