Job summary

City of Lynchburg, VA seeks a seasoned civil/structural project manager to oversee design, coordination, and inspection of municipal construction and renovation projects. You will supervise staff, coordinate with consultants, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and codes.

Responsibilities include permitting, reporting to City leadership, managing budgets and timelines, and serving as liaison among departments, contractors, regulators, and the public.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) in Engineering or related field
• At least 5 years of relevant experience; combination allowed

Responsibilities

• Manages consultants in the design and construction of facilities maintenance projects.
• Coordinates complex projects with stakeholders and facilitates meetings.
• Ensures compliance with plans, specs, standards, and codes with regard to materials, work quality and safety.
• Coordinates with Public Relations for project development and construction communications.
• Obtains applicable local, state, and federal permits and coordinates reviews.
• Prepares reports for City leadership and public audiences; maintains project records.
• Oversees budgets, timelines, and coordination of staff on assigned projects.
• Represents City at progress meetings and final inspections; oversees inspectors.
