Job summary

Christman Constructors, Inc. is seeking a results-driven Controller to lead financial controls and reporting in the Lansing/Livonia, MI area. The role requires strong accounting leadership, tax coordination with external CPAs, and the ability to guide a finance team through month-end close.

Ideal candidates will have CPA and CCIFP credentials, a minimum of ten years in accounting/finance, and a proven track record in the construction industry. Travel is limited to local projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector.
• Equivalency: an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains financial controls for the company and supports AP/AR and contracts.
• Prepares monthly financial statements and closes; coordinates tax returns with outside CPA firms.
• Mentors accounting staff and facilitates career development.
• Coordinates annual tax return preparation and annual audits with outside CPAs.
• Reviews journal entries and analyzes monthly operating results for accuracy.
