Job summary

Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function from our Atlanta, GA headquarters. You will own the monthly close, general ledger integrity, job costing, and revenue recognition for a construction-focused company.

You will partner with the CFO and operations teams to drive accurate project financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader with direct responsibility for financial reporting and the close.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's accounting function and maintain accountability for accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and supported.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting financial information.
• Lead construction accounting, including job costing, project cost allocation, work-in-progress reporting, revenue recognition, retainage, and overbillings/underbillings.
• Review project financial information and partner with project management to ensure costs, contract values, and margins are accurately reflected.
• Identify unusual project costs or variances and ensure they are investigated and resolved.
• Lead, coach, and mentor accounting team members; develop backup coverage.
