Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Administrator to join our team. This full-time, in-office role focuses on managing project specifications and overseeing contract and construction documents.

Expect 2-3 days of site visits weekly with potential travel, and opportunities for professional growth within the organization. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in design engineering or construction administration, with proficiency in Bluebeam/Adobe,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience as a design engineer or construction administration professional or skilled tradesperson.
  • Proficiency with Adobe/Bluebeam and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with electronic document management systems such as Newforma or Procore.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple design team members to manage construction-related correspondence.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and understand internal customer expectations.
  • Ability to manage schedules to meet critical deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with project contract language, current code requirements, and current manufacturer information
  • Assist with construction administration document processing activities, including shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, and closeout documents
  • Perform preliminary reviews of submittals and incorporate comments from the design team in final responses
  • Prepare preliminary answers for RFIs and incorporate comments from the design team in the final responses
  • Perform onsite construction inspections to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract documents and to resolve conflicts. Anticipated 2-3 days a week of construction site visits to monitor progress of projects (travel may be required, including full day and overnight)
  • Prepare field observation reports
  • Help to maintain and update electronic construction plan sets working with the design team
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules and logs
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal staff and external clients regarding project inquiries or procedures/requirements
  • Mentor and train design staff based on constructability feedback and lessons learned from field observations and construction administration processes
  • Coordinate completion of closeout documents

Position

We have an immediate need for an experienced Senior Construction Administrator to join our diverse team of engineering professionals in our Indianapolis office. This is a full-time, in-office/job site role responsible for managing project specifications and overseeing contract and construction documents. Working hours are Monday through Friday, with opportunities for professional growth within the organization.
