Job summary

C M T A Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator for our Indianapolis office. In this full-time role, you will manage project specifications and oversee contract documents. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the construction field and proficiency in relevant software.

Key responsibilities include maintaining project specifications, coordinating templates, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) matching and health insurance.

Qualifications

  • CDT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project specifications and oversee construction documents.

Skills

Job Description
Position Overview

CMTA, a Legence company, has an immediate need for an experienced Construction Administrator to join our diverse team of engineering professionals in our Indianapolis office. This position will be responsible for managing project specifications and serving in an administrative role to manage and oversee contract/construction documents. This is a full-time, onsite position, with working hours Monday through Friday, with opportunities for professional growth within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of specification masters.
  • Oversee the development of project specifications involving multiple design team members.
  • Review, format, and edit project specifications.
  • Provide office wide support for all specification needs.
  • Coordinate specifications templates, formats, and schedules with clients.
  • Oversee bid document production and schedules for “Prime” projects.
  • Assure compliance with project contract language with attention to current code requirements and current manufacturer information.
  • Distribution and coordination of design documents to state and local review agencies.
  • Assist with construction administration document processing activities including shop drawings, RFI’s, change orders, pay apps and closeout documents.
  • Technical editing of deliverables which consists of proofreading and working with technical staff to edit documents for format, clarity, consistency, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Maintain and update electronic construction plan sets.
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules and logs.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal staff and external clients regarding project inquiries or procedures/requirements.
  • Provide general office support as part of the administrative team.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with specifications in the Architectural, Engineering, or Construction field.
  • Knowledgeable of CSI MasterFormat; CDT certification is a plus.
  • Experience with MasterSpec, VisiSpec, SpecLink, or other spec editing platform.
  • Proficiency with Adobe/Bluebeam and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Document Management Systems such as Newforma and Procore.
