Job summary

Our Client in the Twin Cities area is seeking a skilled accountant for a full-time, in-person role to manage project finances and support operational efficiency across construction projects.

You will own project accounting processes (AP, AR, WIP), oversee monthly close and ledger reconciliations, develop budgets and forecasts, and provide timely financial statements to project managers and leadership. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business field is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience within the construction industry, including journal entries, GL functions, and monthly close.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Project Accounting: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, work-in-progress, and all project costing aspects.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly close, reconcile ledgers, and prepare timely financial statements.
• Budget & Forecasting: Develop budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts; perform variance analysis.
• General Ledger Management: Create and review journal entries and ensure timely GL processing.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and efficiency.
